Let the adventure begin on day one, as we collect you from your Marrakech hotel or riad at 7:30 a.m. We'll travel the Tichka Pass for jaw-dropping views of the Atlas Mountains before exploring Ouarzazate and driving on to Zagora. Crossing the Draa River, we'll see miles of palmeraies, vegetable fields, and henna plantations. End the day with a cozy hotel stay and dinner.
Let's venture out to M'hamid on the second day, where we'll explore the oldest Quranic libraries and pottery factory in Morocco before lunch, Then, we'll traverse the desert's various terrains, including Erg, Reg, Hammada, and oases to arrive at Erg Chigaga dunes, where you'll have the opportunity to ride camels and stay overnight in a Sahara Desert camp, enjoying local music and a delicious dinner.
As the sun rises and once you take breakfast, we'll depart towards Tazenakht, which is now a renowned carpet-making hub, passing by the dry Lake Iriki. Next, we'll travel through the small Berber town of Foum-Zguid before arriving at the 11th-century fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. Here, you'll have a delicious dinner and spend the night.
Following breakfast, we'll journey towards the Kasbah of Telouet, which once acted as the political center of Morocco south of the High Atlas Mountains, and served as the El Glaoui family's stronghold. The palace is now open to visitors, but it's in a state of decay. Later, we will take a lunch break at the Tichka Pass before returning to Marrakech.
