1 DAY 1 : Day Trip from Fes to Meknes and Volubilis - Itinerary

After being fetched from your hotel/riad in Fes in an air-conditioned vehicle, you will take the road to discover the Roman ruins in Morocco Volubilis and the imperial city of Meknes with a wonderful drive through the surrounding countryside. When you arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, which is spread over a wide area, you will enjoy ravishing views over the valleys, the hills and the green fields. It is recommended to hire a local guide there to provide local knowledge as the site has an enriching historical background. Afterwards, you will go visit the holy town of Moulay Edriss Zerhouni, perched on the hillside above the ruins. Even though non-Moslems are not allowed to enter the mausoleum, the main square is full of lovely little shops and magnificent views to explore. Directly after having lunch, you will continue to Meknes where you will be fascinated by the historical architecture with massive walls and gorgeous gates of its main sites like Bab El Mansour, the Sidi Said Mosque, the Dal El Makhzen Royal Palace and the Tomb of Moulay Ismail. As well as, you can visit various souks in the city that offer as many leather and silver goods as Fes at a more affordable price. In the afternoon, we drive you back to Fes. Drop off at your hotel.
